Summary

ClickSnap is a free alternative to GoFullPage for people who also need editing. Both capture full scrolling pages in Chrome; ClickSnap adds free annotation (arrows, numbered steps, text, shapes), blur and pixelate tools, device frames and gradient backgrounds, and keeps screenshots only on your computer.

Short answer

If all you need is a full-page capture saved as an image, GoFullPage does that well. If you then annotate, blur or frame most of your screenshots, ClickSnap does those steps in the same extension, for free.

What both do

  • Capture an entire scrolling page in Chrome from the toolbar or a keyboard shortcut.
  • Save the result as an image you can download.

Both are limited by the same Chrome API, which allows about two screen captures per second, so neither can be dramatically faster than the other on long pages.

What ClickSnap adds

Point at somethingArrows (straight, curved, double), shapes, highlighter, pen
Explain stepsNumbered step badges that count up automatically
Hide private detailsBlur brush and rectangle pixelate
Share on social mediamacOS Safari and iPhone frames, 12 gradient backgrounds
Get it out fastOne-click copy, or PNG, JPG, WebP and PDF export at up to 4×
Sticky headersHidden after the first screen, so they appear once
PrivacyNo account, nothing uploaded; images stay in your browser

GoFullPage also has an editor; check its current plans for which editing features are free. ClickSnap has no paid tier.

What ClickSnap doesn’t do (yet)

  • Text recognition is English-only for now, and private-data detection can miss things, so check before sharing.
  • No GIF export; the screen recorder saves WebM video.
  • Pages taller than 16,384 pixels are shown scaled down; Export saves them at full resolution as parts or a PDF.

Switching takes a minute

  1. Add ClickSnap to Chrome.
  2. Pin it to the toolbar.
  3. Press `Alt + Shift + F` (`Option + Shift + F` on a Mac) on any long page.
