Version 1.1.0 — Faster capture (October 2026)

What’s new
Changes in 1.1.0:
About twice as fast full-page capture
Captures now run at Chrome’s own limit of about two screens per second. In our benchmark a 10-screen page went from 10.1 s to 5.4 s, and a 30-screen page from 28 s to 16 s. The editor opens as soon as the last screen is captured.
Instant copy
Copy to clipboard reuses the saved image when you haven’t made changes, and the “copy after capture” setting now works.
Offline text recognition
Copy text reads every word in a screenshot on your computer; Find private data spots emails, API keys and card numbers and offers to pixelate them.
Very long pages at full resolution
Pages taller than 16,384 pixels are shown scaled down in the editor, and Export now saves them at full resolution as several PNG parts or one multi-page PDF.
Sticky headers always restored
Fixed a bug where fixed or sticky headers could stay hidden on the page after capturing pages longer than two screens.
New keyboard shortcuts
New installs use Alt+Shift+F / V / A / S (Option on Mac). The old Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+V took over “paste as plain text”. Existing users keep their shortcuts and can change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
Clear errors and progress
Capture progress shows on the toolbar icon (Esc cancels), and failed captures now explain what went wrong instead of doing nothing.
Fewer permissions
Removed the “tabs” permission (and its “Read your browsing history” warning) and the unused side panel.
Rebuilt: text recognition and private-data detection
Version 1.0.1 included previews of OCR and automatic redaction that didn’t work properly. In 1.1 they are rebuilt for real: Copy text reads every word in a screenshot with an on-device OCR engine, and Find private data looks for emails, API keys, tokens, card numbers and IP addresses in that text and offers to pixelate them. Both run offline; nothing is uploaded. GIF export is still not available; the recorder saves WebM video.

Full-page capture detects apps that scroll an inner area, such as Gmail and Notion.
