The extension doesn’t collect browsing history or usage data. Our website uses Google Analytics (see section 4).
1. Overview & Fundamental Privacy Commitment
ClickSnap ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension and web studio built by Sarangan Raviraj and Sahana Ravichandran. We believe your screenshots often contain sensitive confidential business data, personal identifiable information (PII), source code, and API tokens.
The ClickSnap extension runs entirely on your device. It does not send your screenshots, recordings, browsing activity or usage data to us or to anyone else, and we don’t run servers that receive them. Our website, clicksnap.live, is different: it uses Google Analytics, as described in section 4.
2. Data Stored by ClickSnap (Client-Side Only)
When you use ClickSnap, all data is retained strictly on your physical device via standard W3C browser storage APIs:
- Captured Image Blobs (IndexedDB): Raw canvas screenshot data and thumbnails are saved locally inside your browser profile.
- Settings (chrome.storage.sync): your preferences, such as default format, delay and auto-copy. If you’re signed in to Chrome with sync turned on, Chrome syncs these settings (not your screenshots) between your browsers through your Google account.
3. Chrome Extension Permissions Justification
ClickSnap requests only these permissions, and does not ask for access to all websites:

4. Analytics on clicksnap.live
Our website (not the extension) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and which pages help them. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives information such as the pages you view, your approximate country, device and browser type, and the site that referred you. We also record two events: clicks on “Add to Chrome”, and the reason you choose on our uninstall page if you choose one. We don’t use this for advertising and we don’t sell it.

5. Email Updates (Optional)
If you choose to sign up for tips on our welcome page or website, we store your email address and the date you signed up with our email provider, Resend, which sends the emails for us. We use it only to send ClickSnap tips and release notes: a short welcome series, then occasional updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all emails. Nothing is collected unless you type your address and press the button.
6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
The extension doesn’t send personal data to us. If you signed up for email updates, you can ask us to delete your address at any time, or simply unsubscribe. In addition:
- We do not sell personal data to third parties, advertising brokers, or data brokers.
- You have 100% control to purge all stored screenshots and history at any time with the "Clear History" button in Settings or History.
- Uninstalling ClickSnap deletes the screenshots and recordings it stored on your device.
